How to Make Your Own Beard Oil – 2-in-1 Formula

Make Your Own 2 in 1 Beard Oil

Beard Oil and Men’s Facial Oil Serum In One!

Beard oil can really change an unruly beard into a soft tamable one.  My husband grows a beard every year for hunting. I love the way his beard looks but, before beard oil, I did not like the way his beard felt against my skin. I have very sensitive skin and I felt his beard was pokey, even after it was completely grown out.

Because of that, I began making him beard oil anytime he choose to grow a beard.  Of course as an esthetician, I cannot just stop there. I also wanted a serum that was great for his skin. So this recipe is different than your typical beard oil because it acts as an oil facial serum as well!

After many different recipes and alterations, below is the recipe I most frequently use. The essential oils included are very healing and it has an earthy smell to it.  This recipe makes a large batch (about 3-4 – 2 oz. glass dropper bottles).  The recipe can either be cut in half or you can make a bunch for your friends.

INGREDIENTS:

1/4 Cup Grapeseed Oil
1/8 Cup Apricot Oil
1 Tablespoon Rosehip Seed Oil
1 Tablespoon Jojoba
1/4 Teaspoon Argan Oil

8-10 Drops Frankincense
8-10 Drops Tea Tree
7-9 Drops Peppermint
4-6 Drops Vetiver

DIRECTIONS:

Combine all ingredients and pour into 2 or 4 oz. amber (use dark colored bottles to preserve essential oils) glass dropper bottles.

HOW TO USE:

Apply about a half dropper full of beard oil to palm of your hand and rub hands together, distributing evenly. It is best to massage beard oil into the beard first, from the follicle to the ends of the beard. Massage remaining beard oil all over face.  It takes a few minutes for the beard oil to absorb into the skin because it is so moisturizing.

Enjoy!

FIZZING BATH (BOMB) TRUFFLE

Making Your Own Bath (Bomb) Truffles

Have you ever tried to make your own bath bombs only to have them crumble on you, dry out your skin or not turn out quite right? I have  tried many different bath bomb recipes and experienced all these unpleasant results. The fizzing bath truffle is different than most recipes
and is my absolute favorite.
Soothing cocoa butter helps hydrate your skin while the Himalayan sea salt provides healing benefits for the body. A luxurious bath  experience with just the right ingredients to soften the skin.

INGREDIENTS:

2 1/2 Tablespoons Cocoa Butter
1/2 Cup Baking Soda
1 Tablespoon Himalayan Sea Salt
3 Tablespoons Citric Acid
10 drops Ylang Ylang Essential Oil *

DIRECTIONS:

In a small sauce pot melt cocoa butter on low heat. As soon as it is completely melted, remove from heat and add baking soda, Himalayan sea salt and citric acid. Mix quickly and add essential oils. Mix again and press into a silicone type mold made for ice cubes or candies. The mixture should be a thick paste like consistency.

Put in the refrigerator and let cool for about 2 hours. Pop out your bath truffles and store in a cool, dry place.

OPTIONS (for gift giving):

1. Put in cute little cardboard boxes.
2. Wrap in waxed paper or candy wrappers or leave unwrapped.
3. Pour into small disposable paper cups instead of a mold and press a dried flower into the top.
4. Sprinkle dried flowers into the bottom of your mold before pouring in your truffle mixture to add
a romantic touch.
5. Test out different essential oils, i.e. Lavender, Lemon, Orange or Frankincense.

HOW TO USE:

Place one or two bath truffles into warm bath water and enjoy.
