Many conventional hand soaps contain ingredients like phthalates, triclosan, and sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS\/SLES), which may be irritating to sensitive skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With children and pets in the house, we find ourselves washing our hands constantly. Over time, we noticed that many of the chemical-based hand soaps we were using left our family\u2019s hands feeling dry and irritated. Once we started making our own hand soap, we noticed a big difference. Our hands feel softer, more moisturized, and no longer have the irritation we experienced before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The best part? Making your own foaming hand soap is simple, affordable, and takes just a few ingredients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where to Start<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are lots of creative variations for DIY foaming hand soaps. Additionally, you can purchase nice hand soap dispensers from Amazon or department stores. The glass ones last a lot longer than the plastic and add a pretty touch to any kitchen or bathroom. The base recipe of this hand soap is Castile soap and water. You can play with different essential oils and extracts to create your own scents. But here are two of my favorites:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Almond &#8211; Apricot Foaming Hand Soap<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 Cup Filtered or Distilled Water<br>2 Tablespoons Almond Castile Soap<br>1 Teaspoon Apricot Kernel Oil<br>1 Teaspoon Almond Extract<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Coconut-Lavender Foaming Hand Soap<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 Cup Water<br>2 Tablespoons Lavender Castile Soap<br>1 Teaspoon Fractionated Coconut Oil<br>10 Drops Lavender Essential Oil<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">I usually mix the ingredients directly in the foaming hand soap container. This tends to be easier than mixing separately. But you can easily mix the ingredients first and then pour into containers, if you prefer. This is helpful if you are making several soaps at once.
