Mene Mene Tekel &#038; Parsin &#8211; What Does It Mean?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As many of you know, I have been writing and doing videos on the end times ever since I heard from the Lord in 2020. Since I was reading the book of Daniel when I received these things from God, I felt it necessary to talk about it little bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Is the Writing on the Wall? What does Mene Mene Tekel and Parsin actually mean in Daniel 5?\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/atDAOwKKd-w?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">THE WRITING ON THE WALL<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In the book of Daniel, chapter 5 describes a time after King Nebuchadnezzar\u2019s reign when Daniel and his friends (and others) were taken captive and living in Babylon. King Nebuchadnezzar\u2019s son, Belshazzar, is the new king. He decides to have a great feast for a thousand of his lords and while he is drinking wine in front of them all, this happens:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">Belshazzar, when he tasted the wine, commanded that the vessels of gold and of silver that Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken out of the temple in Jerusalem be brought, that the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines might drink from them. Then they brought in the golden vessels that had been taken out of the temple, the house of God in Jerusalem, and the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines drank from them. They drank wine and praised the gods of gold and silver, bronze, iron, wood, and stone.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p><cite><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">Daniel 5:2-4<\/span><\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>So King Belshazzar decides to worship his idols of gold, metal and stone with the golden holy vessels of the one true God. What could go wrong?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">Immediately the fingers of a human hand appeared and wrote on the plaster of the wall of the king&#8217;s palace, opposite the <\/span><span class=\"has-inline-color has-pale-pink-color\">lamp stand<\/span><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">. And the king saw the hand as it wrote. Then the king&#8217;s color changed, and his thoughts alarmed him; his limbs gave way, and his knees knocked together. The king called loudly to bring in the enchanters, the Chaldeans, and the astrologers. The king declared to the wise men of Babylon, \u201cWhoever reads this writing, and shows me its interpretation, shall be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold around his neck and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p><cite><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">Daniel 5:5-7<\/span><\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>During the king\u2019s blatant disrespect of the Lord\u2019s holy vessels, he is shown the writing is on the wall opposite the lamp stand. The lamp stand stands out in this passage. The lamp stand in the Bible often represents light &#8211; Jesus being the light of the world. But it can also represent the church who abides in Jesus. Isn\u2019t that interesting?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So as we see from the text, Belshazzar\u2019s knees shook in fear when he witnessed this divine encounter. He called upon all the religious men to interpret. Of course, we know Daniel was able to interpret the writing and deliver a serious message to Belshazzar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\"><em>&#8220;&#8230;<\/em><\/span><\/strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\"><em style=\"font-weight: bold;\">but the God in whose hand is your breath, and whose are all your ways, you have not honored. Then from His presence the hand was sent, and this writing was inscribed. And this is the writing that was inscribed: Mene, Mene, Tekel, and Parsin. This is the interpretation of the matter: Mene, God has numbered the days of your kingdom and brought it to an end; Tekel, you have been weighed in the balances and found wanting; Peres, your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p><cite><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">Daniel 5:23b-28<\/span><\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>There is so much to this interpretation that relates to other parts of the Bible. Mene, also known as mina from the Hebrew root word maneh (Strongs 4488), is actually a measuring term for weight or money. Tekel can actually be translated as shekel which is a unit of money and parsin can mean to divide but it can also mean Persia. It can literally mean number, number, weigh, divide or number twice by weight and divide. What\u2019s even more interesting is that, in my opinion, it relates to the end times statement of time, times and half a time as seen in scriptures, such as in Daniel 7:25, 12:7 and Revelation 12:14. One phrase relating to units of weight or money and the other relating to units of time. Let\u2019s look at Isaiah 40 for further insight:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand&nbsp;and marked off the heavens with a span, enclosed the dust of the <\/span><span class=\"has-inline-color has-pale-pink-color\">earth<\/span><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\"> in a measure and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance? <\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p><cite><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">Isaiah 40:12<\/span><\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">God is in Control<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>God controls time and our lives are weighed in His hands. Now, there is great significance when the finger of God writes something down. Those who know history should take note of anything written or inspired by God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">O Lord, the hope of Israel, all who forsake You shall be put to shame; those who turn away from You shall be <\/span><span class=\"has-inline-color has-pale-pink-color\">written in the earth<\/span><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">,\u00a0for they have forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living water. <\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p><cite><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">Jeremiah 17:13<\/span><\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember when Jesus wrote in the ground in John 8:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\"><em>The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst they said to him, \u201cTeacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery. Now in the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?\u201d This they said to test him, that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and <\/em><\/span><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-pale-pink-color\">wrote with his finger on the ground<\/span><\/em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\"><em>. And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, \u201cLet him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.\u201d And once more he bent down and <\/em><\/span><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-pale-pink-color\">wrote on the ground<\/span><\/em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\"><em>.<\/em><\/span> <\/strong><\/p><cite><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">John 8:3-8<\/span><\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The scribes and pharisees knew their Bibles, so they would have know the verse in Jeremiah. They also would have known the verse in <strong><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">Deuteronomy 6:16<\/span><\/em><\/strong> which states &#8211; <strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.<\/span><\/strong> When they saw Jesus writing on the ground, it should have triggered their memory about these scriptures. Which may have been why they all left and the woman was left standing with Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thankfully, Jesus is a gentle bridegroom and is patient with us. If you have not given your life to Jesus, now is the time. He is loving and forgiving, all you have to do is talk to him, read the Word of God and spend time with Him every day. Let Him guide you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Word of God<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Why is it important to dig into the Word of God? Because when we submerse ourselves in the Holy Bible, God reveals to us His mysteries (<strong><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">Jeremiah 33:3<\/span><\/em><\/strong>). Often in scripture we see very significant events happen after God writes something personally or even when he inspires someone else to write. See, for example, the Ten Commandments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, isn\u2019t it interesting that, during the chaos of the crucifixion of Jesus, that Pilate writes something profound:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">So the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, \u201cDo not write, \u2018The King of the Jews,\u2019 but rather, \u2018This man said, I am King of the Jews.\u2019\u201d Pilate answered, \u201cWhat I have written I have written.\u2019<\/span><\/em><\/strong> <\/p><cite><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">John 19:21-22<\/span><\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Because Jesus is the King. If we cannot recognize significant passages written or inspired by Jesus, we will miss what God is doing. Have you noticed how the world is heating up with sin? We, as followers of Christ, must also heat up in this hour and be ready to stand firm. We must be reading the Word of God as if our life depends on it, because it does!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The signs of the Lord\u2019s coming are all around us. There is a globalized push for a new world structure. This is the first time we have ever seen the entire world affected by pestilence, propaganda and famine may be on the horizon. But make no mistake, the war is not against a political party or a particular country, the war is against satan himself. His fingerprints are all over it. Because of that, we must put on the full armor of God, as we have been taught in the book of Ephesians.
