Most lotions would cause an eczema-like rash on my son&#8217;s skin. There were only a few products that I tried that had better ingredients and seemed to be less irritating, however these brands were extremely expensive. Some of the petroleum based products did help improve his skin. However, I did not like that petroleum based products were possibly carcinogenic and harmful.<\/p>\n<p>After a lot of research and some trial and error, I came up with this formula that has worked wonders! As you can see, it is not a lotion but a skin oil. It works the same way, but is thinner and coats and protects the skin. Skin oil is really easy to make and does not contain water. Because of that, it stays fresher longer. You do not need much and it spreads and absorbs quickly. I have tried this recipe with a few drops of lavender essential oil. It really smells nice and can be calming for the skin. My son&#8217;s skin was so sensitive that I choose unscented for his blend.
