WHY SCRUBS?
As you may have noticed by the DIY skincare posts I share, I LOVE sugar scrubs. Making your own scrub is super easy and it’s a quick way to boost your skincare routine. Using sugar (or salt) as an exfoliant, instantly smooths the skin and gives it a healthy, youthful glow.
The DIY Salt and Sea – Face and Body Scrub is one of my absolute favorite recipes because it uses a combination of sugar and salt and reminds me of being at the ocean. It smells great and the salt texture makes me think of the beach! This scrub is designed for oily or combination skin, a very common skin-type, especially in the summer.
THE INGREDIENTS
There are a few reasons why I have included a few particular ingredients in this recipe. First, sugar provides a gentle exfoliant, while the salt balances and pulls out impurities from the skin. Raw honey acts as an antiseptic, can heal minor breakouts and reduce inflammation. Finally, witch hazel is an astringent, which means it can tighten up the skin. It also can clear up minor breakouts and irritation.

How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand – when I awake, I am still with you. ~Psalm 139:17-18
