WHY MAKE YOUR OWN BATH SALTS?
Have you ever wanted to make your own bath salts but weren’t sure where to start? The good news is, it’s much easier than you might think! Making your own Epsom bath salts is a simple, enjoyable DIY project that lets you get creative with scents, colors and ingredients. Plus, there’s something extra satisfying about creating a relaxing bath experience with something you made yourself.
THE BENEFITS
Bath salts can be very therapeutic if you use pure and natural ingredients. For example, Epsom salts and different mineral salts can be beneficial for your health and body. Epsom salts are crystals of hydrated magnesium sulfate used for sore muscles, body aches, laxatives or medical use. Himalayan sea salt, on the other hand, is a red rock salt mined in Pakistan. The red rock salt contains a great amount of natural minerals that the body loves to soak up. Absorbing these salts can help balance the body’s PH levels and aid in detox.
Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person. Colossians 4:6
Another beneficial ingredient are the oils that are added. You can use any carrier oil you prefer. Personally, I prefer almond oil and fractionated coconut oil with this recipe. However, sunflower, olive or jojoba oil are also a nice addition as well. The essential oils used can be tailored for a beneficial addition to the bath salts and can help with a variety of ailments including colds and stress. Below you will find one of my favorite recipes.

- Add 1-2 Tablespoons to bath water as needed.
- Caution bathtub can be slippery after use.
