DO SMOOTHIES HAVE BENEFITS?
Yes! Our skin is a direct reflection of what is happening inside our bodies. A healthy smoothie is a great trick to give your skin a healing glow. Berries can help reduce inflammation in our bodies, which can reduce puffiness of the skin. Even more importantly, the Delicious Summer Berry Smoothie ingredients offer high amounts of vitamins, such as Vitamin C. Vitamin C is highly important in skin care as it can build and maintain collagen and tissue. Even though Vitamin C is often used topically, it is also important to get enough Vitamin C through a healthy diet.
Additionally, using yogurt in your smoothies can give you that boost of probiotic (healthy bacteria) that help move food smoothly through your digestive track. When you have a well running digestive system, you have a happy body. A happy body means happy skin.
I love using local raw honey as it can help reduce inflammation and minimize allergy symptoms. Not to mention that a little bit of honey makes anything taste better. Get to know your local bee keepers. Ideally, a bee keeper that surrounds their property with organic fields. You will be amazed at the difference in taste from organically grown honey compared to honey bought in stores. Delicious!
I went through quite a few recipes before I came up with this beautiful combination. It is by far my favorite. Bring your skin back to life with this delicious, antioxidant packed, berry smoothie. The perfect health drink for summer. It tastes great and is good for your body and skin. ♥
