Hey friends!
Do you struggle with how to share the good news about Jesus with your friends? Sometimes when I want to share the gospel, I make it a little too complicated. I start talking about the fall of humanity, the moon and the stars. I make it way too hard, like I’m trying to explain quantum physics or something. So, I thought it might be fun to use a sugar scrub to explain the gospel this Passover season (Easter), because it’s two things I love – Jesus and DIY skincare. Which might still be a bit complicated but at least it’s an organized thought process (let’s hope).
THE GOOD NEWS
Just as sugar cleans up the skin, the sweetness of God cleans us up, when we turn away from sin and towards Him (Psalm 51). And just as flour is the main ingredient in bread, Jesus is the bread of life (John 6:35).
When we accept Jesus into our hearts, He anoints us with the oil of joy (Hebrews 1:9) and puts the Holy Spirit into our hearts. It is a light within us, just like the menorah that was crafted to look like the branches of an almond tree, made from pure gold (Ex. 25).
Jesus is our savior, our king and our high priest. He was sinless (Heb. 4), died and was buried. The blood He shed covered our sins and the cup of wine or juice that we drink in communion, represents His promise to us through His sacrifice (Matt. 26).
The frankincense that was brought as a gift at His birth was a representation of His divine nature (Matt. 2). On the third day, Jesus rose from the grave breaking the chains of death and giving all those who accept Him as Lord and Savior ETERNAL LIFE (John 3:16).
This is a great opportunity to share the gospel with some of your friends this Passover. You can make these pretty little sugar scrubs to witness to others. I am providing the PDF, which can be printed two to a page, if you want them smaller. Every time your friend uses this scrub, they will think of Jesus!

DIY SCRUB INSTRUCTIONS
When mixing your ingredients, make sure to first combine your sugar and flour, then the remaining ingredients. Mix well and put into a jar with a lid. I like to use mason jars with plastic lids but if you would rather use plastic that is fine too. Reused Talenti ice cream containers actually work great too FYI.

Giving someone a gift (like this sugar scrub) may open them up to receive the gospel and learn more about Jesus. Of course, nothing compares to the gift that Jesus gave us which is ETERNAL LIFE.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:16-18
