EASY DIY MOTHER-DAUGHTER FACE MASKS
One of the greatest blessings in my life is the opportunity to be a mother to my children. My youngest daughter and I really have a lot in common when it comes to seeing beauty in the world. She also loves to play dress up and try new things. When she sees me wearing facial masks around the house, she wants to try one too. This Mother’s Day I thought it would be a wonderful treat for us to have a spa day together and let her try out her own face mask. There are not a ton of face mask recipes out there for children and teens. I definitely did not want my young daughter using one of mine since they can be too strong for her young skin. I want her face mask to be moisturizing and nourishing.
Try a Gentle Mask for Your Child
This is a great face mask that can work for both boys and girls of ALL ages. It is extremely moisturizing and gentle so works great for dry or dehydrated skin. Additionally, it can help relieve eczema prone skin.
Ingredients
- 1 TABLESPOON RAW ORGANIC COCONUT OIL
- 1 TABLESPOON HONEY
- 1 TABLESPOON OAT FLOUR
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients.
- Apply gently to your child's skin or if they are older they can do it themselves.
- Leave on about 3-5 minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly.
Try a Pore Clearing Mask for Yourself
I really wanted to treat blackheads with my face mask for our spa day. My favorite DIY mask for pores is the Activated Charcoal Mask. Activated charcoal is an amazing addition to natural skin care and also beneficial for your health when taken internally. Activated charcoal is very porous and is able to trap toxins, bacteria, dirt and chemicals. Consequently, in skin care it can absorb dirt, toxins and oil from pores. This helps to purify and detoxify the skin. Therefore, it can be very beneficial for oily skin, breakouts and acne.
You can see more in our video above for making the Activated Charcoal Mask or print out the recipe at this LINK.
I hope you enjoy your spa day with your children!
